Attorney Matthew LemakosMatt was born and raised in River Edge, New Jersey. Upon graduating high school Matt decided to make a move to warmer weather and attended Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. While studying at Lynn, Matt discovered that his true passion was writing and advocating; and after much consideration he decided that he could best put his passions to use by becoming an attorney. Matt attended Whittier Law School in Costa Mesa, California and received his J.D. While in law school, Matt excelled in legal writing, and was given the honor of being a teacher’s assistant for legal writing in recognition of his abilities.

While studying law, Matt worked as an intern at a prestigious personal injury law firm, specializing in asbestos exposure cases. While working there, Matt helped many clients, including 9/11 first responders, who were exposed to asbestos and as a result were diagnosed with mesothelioma. Matt also interned at a fast paced general practice firm in law school, where he worked on a wide variety of cases ranging from foreclosure defense, to representing medical marijuana dispensaries against local municipalities.

During his time gaining practical experience in law school, Matt found a passion in helping the “little guy” against big corporations and government entities. Finally, after graduating law school, Matt returned to Florida to be closer to his family. He worked for a short time as a paralegal at a firm that specializes in worker’s compensation while he was awaiting his Florida bar exam results.

Matt has been working as an attorney at Celler Legal since September of 2017. Here at Celler Legal, Matt puts his passion of helping people to good use. His writing skills have been integral to several large settlements, and he is eager to continue working to make sure the “little guy” is not taken advantage of. Matt is a resident of Delray Beach, Florida, and in his spare time enjoys spending time with his family, reading books, and watching T.V.  – www.floridaovertimelawyer.com.
